Day 256

Buildings are being erected all over Kigali...large homes, apartment complexes, and office buildings are springing up throughout the city.. This is an example of what the construction looks like...lots of brick and cement is involved. This happens to be an addition to Woodlands Grocery store, which is run by a nice woman named Betty. She also owns Byimba Beauty Saloon (that's not a typo - that is what they are called here...saloons!) on the third floor, and a disco on the fourth floor.

I think it's great that workers at construction sites seem to wear hard hats! I find that very progressive, which is a true characterization of this country.
