Day 302

Our friend, Drew, arrived back in Rwanda last night, and he hand-carried some of Shelley's famous home-made candies to us from the small town in Canada where they both live. (Sorry, Eric - you have to wait til Christmas for yours).

Great expectations! Agnes waits while Brad unwraps a caramel.

Fully aware that they had never have tasted such a treat in their lives, Brad graciously shared the coveted treats with Damascene and Agnes. Brad warned her that after she ate a few bites, she would faint and fall out of her chair from a sugar overdose. She said she was willing to take the risk. He gave each person a small plate with a sample of: caramel, rocky road fudge, salted caramel fudge, and nut roll. 

After the initial taste test, Damascene and Agnes dug in for their favorite! Agnes was quite sure that Brad would leave the entire container for them to eat after we left. Normally, he is a softie when it comes to Agnes, but in this case, Brad's response was: "What, do you think I'm crazy!?"
