Day 275

We flew from Kigali to Bujumbura this afternoon. While in an outer waiting area at the airport, Michael approached us and asked us if we were missionaries. He said he was also a return missionary, and was enroute to DR Congo to repair a crane. He is from the Philippines, but works out of Dubai for a company that travels on-site to repair cranes. He has a wife, a daughter, and twin sons that live in the Philippines, and only gets to go home to see them once a year. Because he was in transit, he normally would not have come to the area where we were sitting, but he talked the security into letting him leave his waiting area in order to get something to eat, and immediately saw us. It is always so fun to have a reunion with a fellow member of the church..and especially a return missionary. We were surprised to hear that, although missionaries are not in the country, there are several LDS stakes in Dubai - all comprised of people who were baptized outside of that country, but found a job in Dubai. I love this church.
