Day 132

The Beckles took us to a unique lodge located on an island in the middle of the Nile River for lunch today. To get to the restaurant, we traveled by canoe across the River!
We met the Beckles (from Gilroy, CA) on our first day in the MTC, and became fast friends. They are the Humanitarian Country Directors for Uganda, and we hold the same position in Rwanda, so it is always fun to be with them and compare experiences from our countries.
Each of the 10 bungalows on the island has its own outdoor private bathtub!

I doubt that John Speke or Richard Burton had this type of a relaxing day in the middle  of the Nile River back in the 1800s when they were searching for its source. I'm also pretty sure that they didn't have a delicious chicken wrap - probably some old English biscuits on a tin plate.
