| May 1...as a kid, we loved to make little paper cone baskets, fill them with flowers, and hang them on people's door knobs for May Day. In Rwanda, May 1 is their Labor Day, In Hawaii, May 1 means Lei Day. Hard to believe that 1 year ago, we were in Maui celebrating as the Hawaiians do! Pretty much everything about where I am this year (Rwanda) is different from where I was 365 days ago (Maui) - but I will say that my favorite fragrant plumeria flower is found in both these parts of the world! Still on the lookout for the shave ice and the lava flows... |
And it is not hard to imagine that you will be back in Maui 365 days from now to revel in the shave ice and lava flow.
