Day 229

Amahoro means "Peace". This cooperative was developed as a place for widowed and HIV women to come and learn to sew, and then earn a living. It's a beautiful concept!

Grace and Betty are two of the seamstresses at Amahoro. Here, they pose with some of the items they create. I showed them my Vera Bradley bag (given to me by Ann Marie), and they want to try to re-create it for their ladies to sew. I told Grace she would have to name her line "Grace Karen"!

Grace, the leader of the Amahoro Sewing Cooperative, sewed these little cuties. They will be for my grandgirls to wear when they come to Grandma's house to bake! Shhhh Vanessa and Jenny - keep it a secret until I give them to them!
