Day 233

We visited Nyamata Genocide Memorial today with the vision doctor from the U.S. It is always a sobering experience to view the displays of death and destruction in April to July 1994.
Purple is the color of mourning in Rwanda, so it is fitting to see these blossoms on the memorial grounds.

The buildings are still dressed in purple from the days of remembrance held from April through July.

It is very common to see flower arrangements wrapped in tulle adorning the mass grave sites.
