Day 226 BONUS!!

KIgali Branch held their Mormon Helping Hands Day today at our building. We gave out reading glasses, crutches, and two wheelchairs. We organized with the sector government where our building is located to reach out to those in our neighborhood who are too poor to buy glasses and crutches. Here, Vincent and I pose with a man who can now read! He just needs to clip off that pesky glasses tag, and he's all set to go!

We set up display tables showcasing our humanitarian projects at the entrance to our building, as well as inside.

This young man arrived with his mom on the back of a moto-taxi, and left in his very own Roughrider wheelchair. The Executive Secretary, branch member Sam, and I, were delighted that the young man is now mobile!

A little 5-year-old named Wanda also received a wheelchair. She appeared to have cerebral palsy, and was carried to our building wrapped on her mom's back. What a relief it will be to both of them to have this other method to be transported. This was a wonderful day in every way. We aided 153 individuals from our neighborhood, and did a little Public Affairs work by highlighting the good deeds done through the donations from church members across the world. Television, radio, and newspaper journalists were there. You can read the newspaper article HERE.
