I love to set goals, and am setting myself up for failure, in that one
of my 2012 goals is to take a photo a day. It is my intent to post those
pictures to serve as a photo journal of 365 days of my Church mission
in Rwanda. Here’s day one.
I bought this fabric at the open market at Kiziba Refugee Camp, where we are building 14 dischargeable latrines to relieve the suffering of the 16,000 refugees. The fabric is from D.R. Congo. Aside: The refugees from D.R. Congo were displaced as a result of the 1994 genocide in Rwanda, and fled into Rwanda when the genocidaires retreated from Rwanda to D.R. Congo. Because they had nowhere to live, U.N.H.C.R. created this camp for them. Most will live their entire lives in the refugee camp. |
